Is WordPress or Shopify better for SEO?
Back in 2017, when I was just starting with Shopify SEO, WordPress was actually a lot better because you could customize it more and apply SEO edits more easily. But now, in 2026, Shopify is superior for SEO, primarily because it's easier to launch new collection pages and product pages, and easier to update existing content. The easier it is to make changes to a website, the fresher the content stays, and the more Google will reward the store with rankings and organic traffic.
