How Meraki Medicinal made a hard-to-explain supplement obvious enough to buy on the first visit

Meraki Medicinal sells methylene blue, a supplement that stains your mouth blue for a few hours and changes the color of everything after that. The founder had built real trust on social, and the people who followed his content bought. Everyone else needed to follow him for weeks first. Six months after we rebuilt the store, conversion had gone from 3% to 8%, with the best months touching 10%.

Client Testimonial

“When you're doing six-figure months, that's a huge difference in profit.”

— Vance Elrod, Founder, Meraki Medicinal

A blue dye you drink. A category built on skepticism

Methylene blue is not an easy sell. It stains your mouth for hours after you take it, and it changes the color of what comes out of your body after that. Supplements are already a crowded, low-trust category. This one asks for more faith than most.

Meraki Medicinal's edge was real: the founder had done the work on social and built a following that trusted him. Anyone who had watched his content for a few weeks bought without hesitation. What the store never did was make that same case to a stranger arriving cold. That's where GoldenWeb came in.

Conversion built on research, because taste had already run out of room

The store had been tweaked on taste before we arrived. The founder's, the team's. Nothing wrong with taste, but it caps out: you have looked at your own store too many times to see it the way a stranger does. We built a structure around the evidence instead.

  1. 01

Mapped every objection that comes up before the sale

Pulled from social comments, support tickets, and reviews, then ranked by how often each one appeared and how close to the buy button it showed up. Nothing went on the page that wasn't answering something a real customer had said.

  2. 02

Found the counter to each objection before writing a word

The clinical studies behind the supplement for the science objections, and the reviews that make each worry look small for the emotional ones.

  3. 03

Rebuilt the above-the-fold on every core template

A visitor lands and immediately sees what's in it for them, why they should buy here, and why this brand can be trusted. Ogilvy's 80 cents, spent properly.

  4. 04

Treated the product page as a sales page, not a spec sheet

Section after section of education stacked under the buy box, so a visitor can arrive knowing nothing, read straight through, reach a conclusion, and buy, without ever opening a competitor's tab.

  5. 05

Ran continuous optimization without A/B testing

The store didn't have the volume for it, so we used GA4 and Clarity behavioral data plus incoming customer feedback to drive revision cycles instead.

From above average to category-leading

Conversion rate went from 3% to 8% over the six-month engagement, with the strongest months touching 10%. For context, a typical Shopify store converts at 1% to 2%. Revenue over the same period went from around $50,000 a month to around $500,000. That is not all conversion work: the client scaled traffic hard at the same time. What the rebuild did was make that scaling worth doing. At 3%, every extra dollar of ad spend is a harder decision. At 8%, it isn't.

The 1% to 2% band is the typical Shopify range, shown for context rather than measured. Meraki's starting point was already above it.

Five templates rebuilt, because a leak is never in just one place

Fixing a product page in isolation moves a number for a month. The visitor still arrives through a homepage that doesn't frame the product, browses a collection page that doesn't differentiate it, and leaves from a cart that gives them a reason to. We rebuilt the whole path.

5Core templates rebuilt in six monthsHomepage, collection, product, cart, navigation
TemplateWhat changed
HomepageThe founder's story and the science behind the product, surfaced in the first screen instead of buried
CollectionProduct differences made scannable, so choosing between options takes seconds
Product pageThe full sales argument, objection by objection, with studies linked in place
CartReassurance placed at the exact point where doubt shows up
NavigationEducation paths surfaced, so the research a buyer needs happens on-site

Every template rebuilt against mapped objections rather than preference. No A/B testing: the store's volume didn't support it, so decisions came from GA4, Clarity, and direct customer feedback.
